Webinar Learning Outcomes:
This session will provide a practical overview of the taxes that are imposed on every-day transactions and production in the mining and resources industry, as well as a description of private sector override royalties. Attendees will be able to spot taxing points in transactions and will be able to factor taxing consequences in to critical pricing and financial decisions.
This session will cover material that would be relevant at an introductory level and for those with moderate experience. Ideally suited to practitioners at small to medium accounting and law firms that advise on transactions in the mining & Resources sector and also to in-house tax managers or in-house treasury team members who need to be aware of tax implications of transactions in the mining & Resources sector.
Ms Teresa Dyson is a recognized tax specialist with over 25 years experience providing tax and structuring advice on transactions in the energy and resources sector, infrastructure arrangements, merger and acquisition activity, and financing arrangements. Teresa is currently a Consultant at McCullough Robertson Lawyers and is a former partner of Ashurst and Deloitte.
Teresa is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Taxation. Teresa has also held a number of roles involving the development and implementation of policy, including as a member of the Resource Taxes Implementation Group, Chair of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, Chair of the Tax Committee of the Law Council of Australia, member of the ATO Resources Tax Working Group, member of the Business Tax Working Group.
