This webinar is the second in a two-part series that covers the topic of capital gains tax (CGT). It aims to cover intermediate to advanced level aspects of the CGT regime that apply to more complex transactions.
This session covers concepts such as ‘market value’ and ‘non-arm’s length dealings’ which are more advanced, yet fundamental to the CGT regime. It also provides guidance on how to deal with some of the more common CGT exemptions and concessions, including practical guidance on how these rules apply in various practical contexts, including, marriage breakdowns, testamentary gifts and insurance proceeds.
It is ideal to also view the webinar Capital Gains Tax (1 of 2) which covers the background to CGT in Australia and provides an outline of fundamental CGT concepts.
