With a number of major reviews of Aged Care in the last year all eyes are on this year’s Federal Budget. Announcements are keenly anticipated for potential changes to Commonwealth Home Support Programme, Home Care Packages and Residential Aged Care.
Increases to the number of Home Care Packages, new higher level packages and changes to the means testing arrangements, are all possibilities.
Likewise, we could well see changes to the means testing arrangements and fees consumers pay for residential aged care through increasing the basic daily fee, lifting the Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) price threshold and adjusting the included value of the family home. Operators could also find there are changes to funding too.
