Making Sense of TRISs

If there’s one thing that’s confusing about the new superannuation rules which commenced from 1 July 2017, it’s transition to retirement income streams. Now that the income earned on TRIS assets can be taxed or tax free depends on whether it is in retirement phase or it’s not. Then there’s the way in which TRIS death benefits are treated if the beneficiary receives a reversionary pension. This session will straighten out all the twists and turns in how TRIS pensions work.

Webinar Learning Outcomes:
• Recognise when a TRIS is not in retirement phase or is in retirement phase
• Understand the events which result in TBA reporting
