Generational Differences in the Workplace – How to Understand and Leverage

Overview

Our workplaces now span over four generations, from Boomers to Gen Z, offering unique opportunities and challenges with each generation.

In this session, we explore the wants and needs of each generation in our workplace. Boomers, GenX, GenY and GenZ all have different wants, needs and expectations across a range of workplace factors including working hours, learning scope, pay, flexibility and promotion.

We also explore how these generations can best work together in teams and workplaces.

This session will arm you with personal and professional confidence about the different generations, what’s driving each, and what they each bring to your workplace and team. You will also feel more aware of the watchouts that can create tension and reduce productivity

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will:

  • Understand each generation more clearly including the span of the generation, its key workplace desires
  • Identify the many opportunities generational diversity offers workplaces and teams of all kinds
  • Be aware of the tensions between generations which can reduce cohesion and productivity
  • Have practices for leveraging generational diversity for decision-making, problem-solving and capitalising on opportunities

This is a very practical session. It includes live polls and practical strategies you can apply every day

Suited to:

Leaders, Managers, Project Managers, Employees, and anyone who wants to be more focused, and clearer in how they lead a team, a project, or a piece of work
