Incapacity, Death and Taxes within SMSFs – Clarifying all the Issues

Overview
When an SMSF is setup, the windup / exit plan is often not considered by the trustees. Join us to cover the main situations when trustees decide to windup their SMSF, including those where the decision is made by someone else.
As shown in previous sessions, SMSFs have fantastic benefits and are the appropriate choice of superannuation vehicle at various ages / stages.
However, there are a few situations that arise during a member/trustee’s life where an SMSF is not the most appropriate, by choice or otherwise.
Under law, trustees must continually assess their situation and decide where it may not be appropriate to be a member of an SMSF.
We will review a few of scenarios and real-life examples.
