Mastering the Art of Delegation and Management

Overview
What’s the right level for your people and tasks?
Effective Leaders do not manage all people and all tasks the same way. If we are too detailed in our management, we risk stifling task achievement and smothering our best people. If we are too ‘hands off’ in our management we risk errors in the work, and leaving our people floundering.
What is the right level? It’s the level that delivers task or goal performance whilst improving engagement
This session will introduce you to simple and effective ways to understand the four different levels of managing people and tasks and how to decide which level is appropriate.
The content explores practical and proven techniques for:
• planning the appropriate level of delegation for the individual or the task
• understanding the process for discussing delegation and work oversight with your team so that expectations are clear
• increasing and decreasing the level of detail you manage at, as required
Beyond the basics, we’ll consider how task complexity and personal skill sets should form part of the decision-making process for development and optimising or innovating and not just for the delegation of work.
