Small Business Rollovers

Overview

Using rollovers to minimise CGT in the context of small business disposals and restructures.

The ability to rollover a capital gain – to defer it to a later date – is a key planning tool available to businesses facing CGT liabilities from situations as diverse as restructuring an established business, selling business assets to a third party or disposing of an entire business.

But working out which, if any, rollover relief is available and navigating the complex rules regarding eligibility and application can be daunting.

This webinar examines this complex area of tax law, examining when rollover relief may be available, how to obtain it and what the tax consequences are in the short term and the long term.

Webinar Learning Outcomes:

Participants will gain an understanding of how tax law applies to CGT rollovers, both in theory and when applied to typical client situations. The knowledge gained can then be taken back to the office to be applied to your present and future small business clients. Material reflects and clarifies ATO guidance and case law.

The webinar is ideal for the development of staff within tax agent and accounting practices who act for small businesses and their owners.
