Take Responsibility for your own Career and Personal Growth

Overview
Join to learn how, in a world that heavily conditions us to follow and conform, being self-directed in our career and personal life is the key to meaning, happiness and health
We can be other-directed or self-directed in our career, and more broadly our growth. Self-directed individuals report higher levels of happiness, meaning and fulfilment.
This session explores the 3 foundations of a self-directed career and growth plan. These are:
- Self-awareness
- Goal orientations
- Personal Skills and Boundaries
We explore how to use both your workplace environment and personal reflection to develop external and internal forms of self-awareness. This combination delivers a robust, holistic form of self-awareness which helps you to make better decisions, and life choices and to focus skill development
We explore a form of goal setting that helps you to set long-term large directional goals and to align those with what you are doing at work and in your growth plan this month or this week. We ‘join the dots’ which helps to create meaning, intrinsic motivation and joy.
We discuss the key skills and boundaries required for you to balance ever-present opportunities, choices and impulses with long-term self-directed career and growth goals so that you have a strong framework for saying Yes and No to opportunities as they arise.
This session aims to help you become clearer on your next 5-10 years of career and personal growth. It contains polls, and additional resources and will be very practical
