Amongst the topics to be covered:
• What is CGT?
• CGT events
• Cost base rules
• How to calculate a capital gain
• Indexation and the CGT discount
• Special rules for small businesses
• Applying CGT to the family home
• CGT for investors
• CGT for partnerships, trusts and companies
• Record keeping
Webinar Learning Outcomes:
Attendees will gain an understanding of when CGT may be an issue for clients, how to calculate a capital gain, as well as an understanding of when CGT can be mitigated by taking advantage of the many exemptions and concessions. Following the webinar, attendees will be able to assist clients both with compliance issues (such as calculating a gain) as well as advising on possible planning opportunities to minimise exposure to CGT.
