In this session John Mamo will present a high-level overview on 2020 Key Rates & Thresholds with a focus on Superannuation Guarantee and tips to ensure compliance.
The update will include:
• 2020 Payroll Tax thresholds
• 2020 FBT Rates
• 2020 ETP thresholds
• 2020 Superannuation Contributions Caps (Concessional & Non-concessional)
• 2020 Maximum Super Contribution Base and common errors in its application
He will also provide worked examples and a more detailed explanation of certain employee tax debts including HELP & Division 293 and how they are impacted by the payroll process.
Chris Heyes will then discuss alternative ways to incentivise your employee group. These will be demonstrated by way of case studies with some intermittent theory and references to legislation provided to support these incentives.
These strategies and related tax impacts will be highlighted including:

• In-house assets
• Non-financial opportunities (purchasing leave, organisation day)

Chris has assisted on both sides of the fence in a number of State payroll tax audits.
John has over 15 years’ experience in Big4 and Mid-Tier accounting firms assisting clients with a broad range of tax and compliance matters. John has worked with clients in a number of industries and client categories including technology, airlines, HNWI and their families and privately owned groups. John also has demonstrated experience in the provision of employment taxes across FBT, payroll tax and workers compensation. John was successful in having Findex appointed to the NSW wage audit panel with SIRA and was successful in having predecessor firms appointed to the wage audit panel of WorkCover (now known as iCare).
