Extracting Value from Private Groups

Overview

What are the opportunities for the tax effective extraction of value from private groups in a post-COVID world?

This webinar will consider the perennial question of how to release value from private groups in a tax effective manner including relevant administrative and legislative developments.

An overview and practical examples will be provided of various options to extract value from private groups including dividends, loans, capital reductions, and buy-backs, including  the current issues, opportunities and risks from a tax perspective.  Where an owner of a private group is looking to sell, taxation considerations relevant to maximising the after-tax proceeds including the small business CGT concessions, roll-over relief, and concessional treatment of earnout arrangements will also be addressed.
