Overview

Information governance strategies to make sure that your company doesn’t become the next Ashley Madison.

A company’s most valuable resource in the digital age is personal information. The insights a business can generate by analysing data it collects about its customers and their preferences can be game-changing. But boards need to take care: a data breach caused by poor data protection policies and practices can take your company out of the game entirely.

With more people working from home , the data protection and privacy risks have increased significantly.

This seminar will provide a high level overview of a company’s data protection obligations, including privacy, dealing with notifiable data breaches, confidentiality and the new consumer data protection right.

We will take a look at some recent, high-profile data breaches and discuss the privacy implications of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will consider working-from-home arrangements, Zoom meetings and the COVIDSafe app and identify strategies to mitigate privacy risks in this “new normal”.
